Dating on MySpace – Using Social Networking
to Find Love
In this day and age, with busy schedules, families, multiple,
jobs and
more and more schools becoming online it is becoming harder
and harder
to find a mate or life partner, or just someone to hang out
with. That
is why MySpace has become one of the social networks for
dating. With
more than 106 million accounts and an average of 230,000 new
registrations a day, finding someone with similar interests
has never been easier.
Each user has a profile that contains the standard of dating
and social
networking. Information about yourself, information about the
type of
person you are looking for, interest, hobbies and a variety of
other
things that one might expect to find. You have the options of
adding
friends to your list, links, and blogs to keep everyone
informed on your
daily life.
Like any internet dating there are significant risks involved
and
safety concerns should be addressed. It is also easy to
misrepresent over
the internet so the person you are talking too online may not
be the type
of person you really want to stay with in real life. Some of
the
concerns are misrepresented ages. This can be a major problem
if you are a
man, think you are talking to someone your age and you are
talking to a
13-year-old girl.
While there are inherent risks with any form of dating MySpace
can
carry, a few more troubles than one might expect to find on
more secure
dating sites. If you are planning to date on MySpace, it is a
good idea to
really get to know the person well before meeting or perhaps
met them
through a friend of a friend so you know there is not a
misrepresentation going on.
